Qatari scouts participate in a campaign to clean up Al Wakrah Beach
The Qatar Scouts and Guides Association participated in a campaign to clean up Al Wakra Beach, entitled “Environment Without Waste” “Recycle and Be Part of the Change” on Thursday, March 10, 2022, in cooperation with the Gulf Petrochemical Association (GPCA), where scouts and foreign communities and students of public and private schools participated in this campaign, with the attendance of more than 310 participants. The campaign included cleaning Al Wakra Beach, in addition to various environmental activities and recreational games. This campaign is an awareness initiative with the aim of spreading awareness among the younger generations about the importance of adopting proper and responsible waste disposal methods. Commander Ahmed Khamis expressed that this campaign comes within the framework of concerted efforts and cooperation with the (GPCA), expressing his thanks for the cooperation with it in the scouting programs and activities. Commander Hizam Naji said: “As we approach the summer, it is necessary to leave beaches suitable for swimming and pointed out that the "beach" was cleaned in cooperation with the participants and volunteers of all categories who oversaw the full implementation of the program. As for Commander Ali Hussein Al-Neama, he commented: Preserving the environment is a collective responsibility, and we are happy that we were able to share that value, one of the most important of which is environmental awareness as a national message that promotes a clean environment through multiple events and programs in this field.” As for the leader, Khalid Al-Hitmi, he said: We must have a commitment to the right of future generations, by making our environment in the best condition. The Waste-Free Environment campaign is one vital act, and this kind of environmental campaign and activities would help ensure an environmentally sound and economically prosperous future for this generation and future generations.” Commander Yaqoub Abu Shawareb said about the event: Such environmentally friendly initiatives will benefit everyone, from residents of Qatar to international visitors who can enjoy the beauty and pristine nature of our country. I would like to thank (GPCA) for their support and active contribution to the success of this event.”
