Study for Sixers and Patrol Leaders of Primary School Stage Under the Slogan "Together for Advancement
On November 13, 2024, the study session for Sixers and Patrol Leaders of the Primary School Stage took place at the Qatar Scouts and Guides Association headquarters, under the theme "Together for Advancement." The aim of this study was to familiarize the leaders with their roles and responsibilities towards their members, the six, the patrol, and the troop, through practical exercises in scouting and guiding traditions and skills.
The study program included a variety of training workshops, covering the following topics:
- Role and Responsibilities of the Sixer Leader
- Role and Responsibilities of the Patrol Leader
- Application of the Scout Method: Including the Promise and the Law, training on scouting traditions such as formation, flag salute, flag raising, calls, and formations using hand signals and whistles during gatherings.
- Practical Training: On knotting techniques such as the reef knot and its uses, and the use of the scout scarf in first aid.
-Games: The study concluded with scout and guide games that incorporated both theoretical knowledge and practical application of scouting and guiding principles.
This study session was attended by 36 Girl Scouts and 25 Guides, all serving as Sixers and Patrol Leaders from 10 public and private schools. The study was supervised by:
The study provided valuable insight into the leadership roles within scouting and guiding and reinforced the importance of practical training in nurturing future leaders.
