The training assembly for Brownies and Girl Guides
Under the slogan "Giving and the Sparkle of Leadership," a training assembly was held on Thursday, November 2, 2023, for Brownies and Brownie Guides at Al-Khwarizmi School with the participation of 15 schools, totaling 250 Brownies and Guides. The event was attended by parents and members of the school's board of trustees.
The assembly began with the distribution of Brownies and Guides, each assigned to a region in Palestine (Haifa, Jaffa, Gaza, Jerusalem, etc.). The morning assembly started with the recitation of the Quran, the national anthem, and training on flag-raising ceremonies. An overview of Palestine was presented, followed by the Brownies and Guides moving to basic training sessions on scouting and guiding principles.
During the training, a unique activity involved exchanging information, where Brownies and Guides provided simple information about their group's name as a symbol or code. The leaders then explained their basic group information, and upon successful completion, the group received the key to accomplishing the task.
The training assembly featured a small camp activity to train on preparing scouting camps. It included handmade tents, fire types, hand signals, whistles, deciphering Morse code, and some scouting terminology. The heads and assistants of the groups participated, aiming to transfer this knowledge to other members in preparation for school camps.
On the sidelines of the assembly, workshops were conducted, such as the Arab Guide Day workshop, a workshop on protection from harm, and a free workshop on self-expression. Additionally, there was a segment titled "Arab Land" that included games and competitions related to Palestine.
