The activities of the Advanced Stage (Secondary School) Hiking Camp began on the evening of Friday, January 19, 2025, and will continue until Saturday, January 20, 2025, at the Scout Training Center in Al-Ghuwayriyah, with the participation of more than 150 scouts and scout leaders representing 11 secondary schools.
Camp leader, Hamad Youssef Al-Omari, explained that this camp is part of the second semester activity plan for the 2024/2025 academic year. He emphasized that hiking camps are among the most important scouting programs and activities, as they serve various goals, including instilling Islamic and educational values, fostering love for the country and respect for leadership, and developing a sense of patriotism in the scouts. These camps also aim to teach leadership skills, adaptability to outdoor life, environmental conservation, and teamwork. Furthermore, they help improve scouts' behavior, enhance positive attitudes toward the scouting movement, and contribute to shaping their personalities by engaging them in fun, challenging, and age-appropriate activities.
The camp program includes a variety of scouting, recreational, social, sporting, and cultural activities, in addition to a hiking trip organized for the participating scouts under the supervision of unit leaders. The trip will incorporate scouting traditions, a campfire ceremony, and outdoor cooking.

The participating scouts also undergo leadership training, which includes constructing gates, flagpoles, fences, and bridges using wood, along with tying knots and securing these structures with ropes. Additionally, the scouts engage in public service initiatives within their surrounding environment and participate in various recreational and cultural activities.
