In collaboration with the Qatar Scouts Association, Souq waqif celebrated the traditional Qaranqasho Night with joy and festivity. Cubs and Brownies Scouts gathered at Al Ahmad Square in Wakra Souq, enjoying one of the most delightful heritage nights, aimed at reviving Qatari traditions, acquainting children with community customs, and honoring the nation's heritage during the holy month of Ramadan.
At Al Ahmad Square in Wakra Souq, children and families immerse themselves in a festive atmosphere, reflecting rich traditions and preserving popular heritage amidst traditional songs and chants that evoke memories of the past. Led by Maestro Mohammed Ahmed Saleh, the Scout Music Band of the Qatar Scouts and Guides Association performed a variety of musical showcases, blending national melodies with authentic Qatari tunes, bringing joy to citizens and residents alike.
Children, adorned in vibrant traditional scout attire, donned the customary "Gahfia" headgear, symbolizing Qatari Scouts' participation in the celebration. Additionally, they wore embroidered "Sadeeri" vests and scout handkerchiefs, symbolizing their affiliation with the Qatari Scouts movement.
Citizens praised the participation of the Qatari Scouts Association in celebrating this traditional night, demonstrating their keenness to preserve ancient customs known throughout the Gulf region. They emphasized the importance of instilling these traditions in the minds of young children, ensuring they do not fade away, especially in the face of technological advancements that have overshadowed traditional Bedouin life.
The Qatar Scouts and Guides Association extends its gratitude to the management of Wakra Souq for organizing numerous events, festivals, and activities throughout the year, especially on Qaranqasho Night.
Participating schools in the event at Wakra Souq included Rashid Primary School for Boys, Al Quds Model School for Boys, Royal Crown International School, Tariq bin Ziyad School, Al Noor International Language School, and Modern Knowledge School.
