The Qatar Scouts and Guides Association organized an introductory meeting for leaders of scout teams across various stages, aiming to present the association’s activity and program plan for 2024/2025 and encourage the implementation of scouting curricula.
Mr. Jassim Al-Hardan, the General Commissioner of the Qatar Scouts and Guides Association, stated that this meeting serves to discuss the association's aspirations, objectives, and future plans. He emphasized the importance of aligning scouting activities and programs with the targeted age groups across different scouting stages.
He stressed the need to enhance the image of the Scout movement by introducing programs and activities that facilitate community engagement, as well as the importance of participating in national, Arab, and global events to ensure that Scouts remain active and connected to their local and global realities.
Al-Hardan also highlighted the significance of maintaining scouting traditions, which are based on the "promise and law," small group systems, outdoor life, and a system of progress badges and exciting, graduated programs.
The meeting's agenda included discussions on forming and managing scout teams, with Leader Hamad Al-Omari presenting effective strategies for attracting new members and implementing scouting traditions to enhance the team's role in community service and development.
Leader Ghanem Abdul Rahman Al-Kuwari underscored the necessity of applying scouting curricula, which are the result of years of diligent work in development, experimentation, and field studies, overseen by a committee of curriculum experts and field leaders familiar with the needs and characteristics of each stage.
The meeting was organized by leaders Hamad Yusuf Al-Omari, Ghanem Al-Kuwari, Hizam Naji, Khaled Al-Hatami, Yaqub Jaber Al-Tamimi, and Ahmad Khamis.
