The Qatari Scouts and Guides Association concluded the training session for scout team leaders, which aims to recruit new leaders to engage in the scout movement and familiarize them with its system. The event involved a group of scout leaders from both government and private schools. This session marks the initial stage of the leadership qualification ladder.
The training aims to equip leaders who contribute to the growth of the association, by involving competent scout leaders in guiding trainees in their teams. This includes their participation in camps, gatherings, and scout meetings, enhancing their capacity to manage gatherings, and conducting courses and training workshops. The specific objectives of this study seek to enable trainees to explain the basic concepts of the scout movement, provide an overview of the scout movement's history, describe the scout method, and practice several fundamental scout traditions.
As part of the program, a scout program was prepared, which was implemented by a training team consisting of scout leaders. Leader Hamad Al Omari, the gathering leader, conducted a training session to explain the objectives and purposes of the study, its overall goal, and the stages of scout qualification. Additionally, a session was conducted by leaders Ya'qub Al Tamimi and Ahmad Khamis Al Youssef to introduce the importance of this study as a step towards continuing in the remaining stages of leadership qualification. They also presented sessions on the campfire ceremony and types of fires.
Furthermore, Leader Ahmad Youssef provided training for leaders on whistle signals, emphasizing their importance in scout work for their role in organizing scouts and facilitating their compliance with any order. Leader Mohammed Al Sha'er provided an introduction to the scout movement, its history, objectives, principles, and means. Additionally, Leader Ghanem Al Kuwari presented evaluation criteria for scout team leaders to encourage competition and instill enthusiasm among scouts to activate scout activities and programs, in line with the applied strategies in this field.
The session included several practical applications, such as using ropes for knots and scout knots, preparing the vanguard gate, and some scout models and applications on the scout method, presented by Leader Hazem Nagi. The organization of the event was overseen by Leader Hamad Al Omari, Leader Ghanem Al Kuwari, Leader Khalid Saqr Al Hitmi, Leader Hazem Nagi, Leader Ahmad Khamis, Leader Ya'qub Al Tamimi, and Leader Mohammed Al Sha'er.
