Under the supervision of the Qatar Scouts and Guides Association, the Guides Division conducted training for the guides on the Technical Guide Program, which was hosted by Al-Shifa Bint Abdulrahman Al-Ansari School.
The project’s objective was explained at the beginning by the Electronic Projects Coordinator, Dana Al-Naimi. The aim is to increase the awareness of the guides about the importance of education as a means to achieve the goals of national sustainable development in the scouting and guiding field. The program focuses on modern technologies such as:
Artificial Intelligence
Minecraft
Virtual Reality
The program is continuously evolving and will extend over several years. Notably, this year, the focus was on the Minecraft program, where guides designed scouting and guiding camps using the program, incorporating scout fire, walls, shelters, and using virtual reality to place common camp animals. The scientific curriculum and virtual reality were also utilized to design the solar system and astronomy.
It is worth mentioning that the project focused on two main aspects: the theoretical side, which involved explaining the concept, objectives, and necessary steps for implementation, and the practical side, which included the application, training, and activation of the idea. Minecraft as a tool is a new concept used in scouting and guiding, and it marks the beginning of its activation during International Education Day.
