Study of Patrol Leaders for the Scouts (Primary Level)
The study of Patrol Leaders for the Scouts (Primary Level) began at the Scout Training Center in the Al-Ghuwayriyah area under the slogan "My Patrol at the Top" during the period from November 22 to 23, 2024, lasting for two days.
During this period, the scouts will receive a series of scout programs covering various training topics such as scout traditions, salute to the flag, raising, folding, and displaying the flag, as well as scout calls and signals, including the use of the whistle for gatherings. They will also receive training in camping skills, outdoor life, practical applications of scout knots and lashings, as well as applications for campfire ceremonies and community service. This program is part of the Qatar Scouts and Guides Association’s plan to prepare and train patrol leaders to enable them to effectively implement scouting and guiding activities.
The course program included an introduction to the scouting and guiding movement, the law of the movement, the types of meetings, the roles and responsibilities of a patrol leader, the badge system, and progression in scouting and guiding. Practical training covered the use of knots and lashings, how to set up a tent, and types of fires used in scouting.
God willing, this will contribute to fostering self-reliance among the scouts and proper preparation for any challenges they may face. The course aims to refine the essential skills of patrol leaders and assistants and to support their attitudes and development.
