The Qatar Scouts and Guides Association organized the first Cub gathering at its headquarters, with the participation of 190 Cubs from scout teams in public and private schools. The gathering aims to equip the Cubs with scouting and life skills to instill a sense of duty towards God, their country, and the community while nurturing their love for the Scout movement.
Leader Sara Sultan, the gathering's coordinator, emphasized that the Qatari Scouts place significant importance on the Cub stage, planning numerous programs aimed at instilling values of cooperation, discipline, responsibility, and volunteerism, while fostering positive attitudes towards their community and local environment. She highlighted that this stage is foundational in the Scout movement, aiming to prepare them educationally to enhance their mental, spiritual, social, and physical development, helping them grow into responsible and distinguished citizens.
Sara also noted that the Scout movement features appropriate curricula that align with the developmental characteristics of each stage, translating into engaging, purposeful, and effective programs that meet the Cubs' needs and strengthen their connection to the Scout movement.
Leader Hamad Al-Omari commended the Cubs for their active participation in training sessions and practical workshops led by distinguished Scout leaders and participating organizations, indicating a clear achievement of the gathering's goals. He mentioned that the gathering included various scout workshops that trained the Cubs on key scouting concepts, such as the Scout promise and law, performing the Scout salute, folding the neckerchief, knots and bindings, and developing skills for implementing pioneering projects.
