The Qatar Scouts and Guides Association organized the "Cellular Journey Camp" for the Boy Scouts in the preparatory stage (12-14 years old), with the participation of 200 scouts from 12 scouting teams from preparatory boys' schools under the slogan "Loyalty and Values." The camp took place at the Scouts Training Center in Al-Louweireya.
The aim of the camp was to foster national pride among the scouts, encourage community participation, and equip them with scouting knowledge, skills, and attitudes, while directing their energy toward creativity, excellence, and global communication.
Leader Eid Arafat emphasized the importance of this camp, which implements the Qatari Scout curriculum for this age group. The goal is to commit to the Scout promise and law, instill religious, social, and health concepts, and nurture innovation, democratic discussion, and the development of physical capabilities. It also focuses on empowering scouts to take on effective and beneficial roles in the community and perform volunteer services in various fields.
He added that the Qatari Scout curriculum is based on several principles, such as holding onto the scouting goal, principles, and method. It aims to equip scouts at all stages with knowledge, skills, and behaviors that reinforce their awareness of national identity, justice, and human civilization. It also helps shape their character, fosters a love for work, and instills a sense of responsibility toward ethical values and their role in contributing to the nation’s growth and prosperity.
The scouting movement aims to train scouts on collective life and fostering a love for others, so that the spirit of citizenship develops. The gathering, which lasted for two days at the Scouts Training Center in Al-Louweireya, included various scouting activities, such as applying scouting traditions, practicing knots and lashings, organizing leadership projects, preparing and executing a campfire ceremony, and learning about the "cellular journey" and the surrounding environment.
