Al-Hardan heads Qatar delegation to 34th meeting of heads of Gulf scouting associations in Oman
The Qatari Scouts and Guides Association participates in the 34th Meeting of Heads of Scout Associations hosted by the Sultanate of Oman represented by the General Directorate of Scouts and Guides from 15 to 18 August.
The meeting will be attended by the chairpersons and secretaries of the GCC scouting associations from Qatar, the Sultanate of Oman, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and the Kingdom of Bahrain. The meeting's agenda includes a series of actions, including a review of the decision of the Ministers of Education on the Committee of Scouts and Guides of the Gulf and rules of procedure of the committees of agents, functional commissions, and task-forces of the Secretariat and follow up on the recommendations of the 33rd Meeting of Heads of Gulf Scout Associations and discuss the preparations of the UAE Scouts Association to host the 33rd Arab Scout Camp and the 31 Arab Scout Conference and the Review of the Sultanate of Oman to examine the realities of strategic plans in Gulf Scouting Associations on the recommendation of the Gulf workshop hosted by the Sultanate of Oman, as well as Gulf activities implemented during 2022-2023 and Gulf activities and programs proposed for 2023-2024.
Professor Jassim Al-Hardan praised the role played by the GCC General Secretariat in the youth and environment sector in supporting joint scouting work and promoting communication among Gulf youth at various scouting events. He said: "This meeting is held periodically to discuss the recommendations of the functional commissions held alternately among Member States for approval and approval of the plan of activities and the timetable of Gulf scouting activities for next year. He commended the role played by the heads of Gulf scouting associations to encourage and support the establishment of joint Gulf scouting activities with the aim of exchanging experiences among Gulf scouting leaders and developing Gulf unity among members of the scouting movement and building bridges of communication and familiarity among them.
The program includes a tourist tour of the province of Dhofar, which is characterized by its unique autumn weather to learn about the tourist, heritage, and historical components of the governorate and meeting with Gulf delegations participating in the Gulf Scout Camp. The program of the meeting also includes the opening of the Scouts and Guides Exhibition of Oman, which includes a number of photographs reflecting the history of the Scout Movement in the Sultanate of Oman, and scouting and mentoring activities organized by the General Directorate of Scouts and Guides.
