"The Training Gathering for the Cubs Stage, under the Slogan 'Our Cubs, a Source of Pride'
The Qatari Scouts and Guides Association organized a training gathering for the Cubs' stage, under the slogan "Our Cubs, a Source of Pride," with the participation of 4 teams from both public and private schools (Qadsiya Kindergarten, Ali Bin Abdullah Kindergarten, Oscar Private Kindergarten, and Al-Jeel Al-Qadim School). The event took place at the headquarters of the Qatari Scouts and Guides Association.
The purpose of this gathering is to activate the activities of the Cubs stage, infusing an atmosphere of fun and joy into the participants, and fostering their engagement in scout and guide activities. Jassim Mohammed Al-Hardan, the General Commissioner, stated that the association opened new registration schedules to attract Cubs aged 5-6 years in kindergartens in both public and private schools, aiming to provide a source of scout and guide recruitment in Qatar. He confirmed the success of this experience, which started a decade ago as a pilot project at the Ibn Sina Kindergarten and has now spread to many government and private schools that have scout and guide teams for Cubs.
Sara Ibrahim, the event leader, mentioned that they gathered the Cub teams in the Qatari Scouts and Guides Association and conducted several workshops to familiarize the Cubs with group activities, improve their integration with peers from other kindergartens, boost their self-reliance, and instill confidence. The program featured a variety of workshops and stations that combined entertainment with education to meet the needs of young Cubs.
The most significant programs included raising the scout flag, the scout promise, and the scout law. The participating teams were divided into stations to engage in various activities and implement a pre-prepared program, such as personal hygiene, the scout promise, and law, gardening, and preparing a light meal. The event also featured activities to address personal safety and deal with community policing issues such as harassment and bullying. Additionally, the Cubs enjoyed face painting and participated in a "Don't Touch Me" activity that focused on safety.
The gathering concluded by presenting commemorative gifts to the participants, leaving a strong sense of happiness and contentment among all who attended. The event was led by Sara Ibrahim, Amira Al-Khayyat, and Sheikha Al-Nuaimi.
